mymobilecoverage is a free mobile phone app that lets users view and record their mobile phone reception (signal strength) as well as all mobile phone events, such as successful calls, dropped or failed calls, loss of voice coverage and loss of 3G or 4G coverage. This can be very useful when reporting poor coverage to your mobile phone carrier. It is also possible to test download speeds at various locations.

It also lets you see lots of techo stuff like the actual cell that you are hearing.

There are lots of places in our region that do not yet have coverage recorded so you can be the first to cover your local area.

Carriers can also subscribe to the service and get an aggregated view of exactly what their customers are experiencing.

The app is available for BlackBerry, Android and iPhone, but note the iPhone version is severely limited.
Read more about it on the mmc website and download the free app.

Please note that by default the app only records data spasmodically. If you want to produce a record of continuous coverage, go into the Engineer Mode screen then select the Menu and Start Record. Have GPS turned on.

When you install the app, you are asked to register. This is so you can log on to a website to view your coverage.

If you have any questions about using the app in Australia, New Zealand or PNG, drop us an email. Sorry but we cannot offer phone support regarding this app. Carriers are welcome to call.
